About

I grew up in West LA with parents who cared about what was on the table. That didn't fully land until my freshman year of college in Paris, and it got its hooks in for good during the pandemic, when I cooked my way through more of Bon Appétit's YouTube channel than I'd like to admit.

I've spent the last seven years at Thinking Basketball, Ben Taylor's channel merging film study with statistics. I cold-emailed him from college and became the first person he hired, back when it had about 60,000 subscribers — it's past 800,000 now. I did research, scripts, editing, strategy, and the statistical work behind the arguments, and started the community Discord along the way. I advise there now.

I also consult at Tamarisk Lane.

Right now most of my nights and weekends go into Despensa, which I started in September 2026. It came out of a small, specific annoyance: I'd get home with good tomatoes or corn and forget who grew them, and by the following Wednesday my memory of the stall had blurred into every other stall. There are diaries for films and for restaurant meals. There wasn't one for the ingredients you cook at home.

Deliberately, it is not Yelp for farmers markets — no star ratings for stalls, no rankings, no leaderboards, no way to leave a bad review. You rate the produce you ate, not the person who grew it. The point is to build real relationships with those farmers and to keep showing up.

Outside work I cook a lot, mostly for friends. Email me if you're building something in food, sports, or media.
